Pregnancy

Pregnancy is really hard on me. I was SICK for months this pregnancy, very uncomfortable, and just plain miserable. I took a few pictures along the way (not nearly as many as last time). So here are a few of me and my growing belly.

Chevy

Dec. 1994 - Dec. 2009

My doggie Chevy went to doggie Heaven on Christmas Eve. I got her for Christmas in 1994. She was just a tiny little puppy. I named her after Clay's first truck, a white '64 Chevy Step side. I was 14 years old. She has been through so much with me.
Well this past year, I could tell that she just wasn't the same old Chevy. She didn't play as hard, she slept a lot, and then within the past few months she started coughing pretty bad. So I took her to see the doggie doctor and he couldn't figure out why she was coughing. So he took some x-rays which revealed a huge tumor in her chest. He told me she might make it 6 more months. Well she made it about 1 month.
She started getting really sick one day so I took her to the vet. We couldn't really tell if she was dieing or if she just had a bladder infection. So he gave her a shot and told me that I would know what to do by the morning. How can you decide that it is time for your dog, whom you've had for 15 years and is apart of the family, to die? I did not want to make that decision. So I begged Chevy to either show me a better sign that she needed to go, or just please go on her own. Well, at 4:00 a.m. Christmas Eve morning, she started crying with every breath. I told her ok, we'll do this today. Then around 8:00 a.m. we were getting ready to take her to be put down, and I was just watching her. She walked to the back door with her head held up, and her tail wagging. I let her out, turned to tell Clay something, then looked out the window and she had laid down in the grass to die. I ran outside and put my hand on her and felt her heart beat for the last time. I was heart broken and relieved at the same time. This was what I had prayed for, she did what I asked her to do. She went on her own terms, at her house with the ones who loved her around her. I will forever miss my sweet doggie. I love you Chevy.

Christmas in Houston

Since I was pregnant over Christmas and my doctor really didn't want me to travel at all, we decided to stay put for Christmas this year. We have lived here for 8 Christmas's and had never spent one here. It was kind of sad since home (Mansfield) got a white Christmas this year. We would have loved to see that. Oh well, it really was better for us to be here this year. We had much less stress, and my beloved doggie, Chevy, passed away on Christmas eve (pictures of her to come).
So here are a few photos from our first Christmas at our home.

The aftermath
Here is Wade with Santa. He was so brave that day. He started out a little scared but we watched some kids sit on Santa's lap and Wade knew what he wanted to ask for. So we waited in line, and when it was our turn Wade walked right up to that Santa and said "I want a vacuum cleaner". I was so proud of him. He was such a big boy.
Way different than last year's picture. :)

Thanksgiving at the Beach

This year we spent Thanksgiving at the beach with Clay's mom's side of the family. 23 of us to be exact. We actually had a lot of fun. Anna Maria Island is a beautiful place. I hope to go back one day. Wade loved the beach and still talks about it to this day. Here are some pictures from our week there.
Wade on the airplane...He LOVED the airplane ride. Thank goodness.
"We're at the BEACH!!!!"
Wade on the boogie board. The water was freezing, but he was a trooper and loved it.
Wade found a shovel in the condo the first day we were there, and would not let go.
Wade with his cousins, River and Kai.
Here is Clay's mom and youngest brother Hunter. Hunter was our ring bearer at our wedding, he was so little. Now he is HUGE!! I actually met Clay before Hunter was born.
Wade with his Grampy D. He LOVES his Grampy D, and talks about him all the time.
I really wanted to get a good family photo while there, but this is all we could do. I almost made the better one our Christmas card, but just couldn't bring myself to do it. Next time, I'll plan better, have better outfits on, and our hair done. Still pretty no matter how frumpy we look, haha. (remember, mama is 6 months pregnant here)
The turtle Clay made in the sand. It didn't last long with all the small children running around.
Check out the sunsets there. Gorgeous!
On our way to the Tampa airport we stopped in at the Manatee viewing center in Apollo Beach to visit with some friends. Carin's sister Melanie and her friend Sakina. So good to see them. They live in Pennsylvania and were down visiting Melanie and Carin's parents who live there.

Disney World

For Thanksgiving we planned on meeting up with with Clay's moms side of the family at a beach house in Anna Maria, Florida. I thought since we were headed to Florida, we should go a few days early and hit up Disney World. I just love Florida! I quickly learned that you cannot really plan out your vacation to a T (like I used to do) when you have kids. Wade got sick while we were there and we ended up having to find a clinic there. We got everything under control and had a pretty good time at the Magic Kingdom. With the sickness, Wade only wanted Daddy, so most pictures are of the two of them.

Here is Clay and Wade at the Rainforest Cafe in Downtown Disney

Riding the Train in Downtown Disney

Riding the ferry over to Magic Kingdom. (as you can see, Wade just isn't feeling it just yet. Poor guy didn't feel too good)

Magic Kingdom!!!
He let me hold him for just a second
Wade loved the show in front of the castle

Playing at Winnie the Pooh's playground
Playing at Mickey's playground
Standing in front of Mickey Mouse's house

After 45 minutes of waiting to see Mickey Mouse, Wade was too scared to sit on his lap. Oh well, at least we got to see him.
Despite the darn ear infection, we really did have a good time while at Disney.

Fall days!!

So far Fall has been all about hanging out with friends. Wade loves it when friends come over to visit. Carin, Wes, and Cambry came to visit in early October. Carin (my best friend from high school), Lisha (my best friend from dental hygiene school), and a friend of theirs Jennifer all ran/biked in the Du the Bear duathlon here in Houston. It was really neat to watch them in this race. I have been in 5 running races myself but never one with another element involved. It was pretty cool to see how all that worked, transitioning from running to bike, and bike to running. Here are all 3 girls right after they finished the race.
While they were here, Wade and Cambry had a great time playing with each other. Here they are pushing each other around in the cul-da-sac in Wade's car.

We also bought a camper this month. We hope this camper will bring many fun times to our family. We met up with the Edwards' and the Newman's at a KAO campground in San Antonio. Cody and Lisha also have a camper and Wes and Carin stay in a cabin there. It was so much fun to break in the new camper and hang out with great friends. I can't wait to do it again soon. With all the excitement of camping, neither Clay nor I remembered to take any pictures. (darn it!) I do have a few of our camper, so here is a look at our newest form of entertainment.
